Exchange only checks for emails via POP3 every 15 mins

This appears to be the lowest time period that can be set. The people who
host our mail don't support Exchange so we had to set up via POP3.

The fact that we can only send and receive from our server every 15 mins is
quite annoying.

Does anybody know of a way to circumvent this?

If you have adequate security settings, antivirus, firewall, etc. on your
client machines, you can setup the Outlook clients to retrieve their POP
directly. That can be configured down to 1 minute, I think. That's how we
set ours up, we're still running an old Exchange 5.5 server and never bought
the Internet connector for it.
