Explorer cannot connect but Outlook can still get mail

Occasionally after I have been using my computer for a while I lose the
ability to connect to the net using a browser (Explorer or Firefox). I can
still send and receive email using Outlook.

I can't find any way to re-connect the Browser except to re-boot the machine
(which always works).

Everything I have tried has been related to fixing the network connection -
I don't know what to try wrt browsers.

I typically use a wireless connection (home or office network using WEP
encryption). There are often other people using the same network and don't
have the same problem (at least at the same time).

I am using Outlook 2003 SP1 and Explorer 6.0.2900.... SP2 and Windows XP
2002 SP2

Any ideas?

Doesn;t sound like an Office problem. You will probably get a better answer
posting to your OS version networking news group.
