export MS Project report to file

Does anyone know why MS Project reports cannot be exported or saved to a
file? For all the money we pay for project it doesn't seem to much to ask to
be able to save a report to a file.

m,
I don't know why reports cannot be saved or exported but I have seen
enough posts concerning this issue that I wouldn't be surprised if the
Project developers extend the flexibility in a future release.
Meanwhile, most reports can be emulated by customizing a Task, Resource
or Usage views. In addition, with a VBA macro any built-in or custom
report can be replicated by exporting the data to another application
that has more formatting flexibility (e.g. Excel).
