export wizard won't list folders

I'm trying to export items from a folder. I used the wizard and selected "export to a file" then chose a format (excel). I've tried this with other formats too. On the next window, it asks me to pick a folder, except the window is entirely blank.

I've used this wizard before without problem.

Any ideas?
