Exporting/Importing PST file

Friend really messed up his computer and decided to
reload XP with a clean copy. Before doing this he used
export in Outlook to save his PST file to a CD. Once he
had reinstalled Outlook, tried to import it from the CD.
Will not allow him to do this because "Does not have
permission to access this file" comes up when attempts to
import. Using Outlook 04 on a XP box with the PST file
being over 250 KB. Tried copying it to hard drive but
content was not copied. User/Passwords for XP are the
same. Any suggestions?

Exporting and importing are not the way to transfer PST files.
Just copy them and open them in another installation.
Copy the file from the CD and remove its read only attribute. Then try to
open it, not import it.
