extra lines come in on word documents and I can not delete them

[Extra lines in word docs help.]

I have created several word docs and now all of a sudden I get these black
lines on the pages. It looks like underline but it is not and it is not only
below words but above. It creates major mess on the page and I can not figure
out how they got there or how to delete them from the page with out deleting
other stuff.

Help please.
