extra unknown email being sent each time i send/receive..

hello! i am also investigating this situation with trend micro in the event
this is on their end so don't yell at me LOL!

every time i send/receive the progress bar shows that i'm sending one more
email than i have in my outgoing folder [for ex. it shows 2 messages being
sent when i only have one, 3 messages being sent when i only have 2, and so
on]. i've run my virus scan and updated, etc. to see if i was sending out a
virus but it comes up clean. anyone have a similar problem and/or some reason
for this happening? tia

The same thing is happening to me and it's driving me nuts. I've tried the
Trend Micro scan, the AdAware scan, and a few others, and nothing comes up.
I have ZoneAlarm on, and my AVG is up to date, and Microsoft Security is on.
One of my profiles alwas has 5 extra messages to send, and I once had a
legitimate email returned, because my address had been identified as beingy a
spammer, though I sent no spam. I hate to think that my computer is
spamming, but I may have been hijacked. Apparently "hijackthis" can show
possible culprits, but I'm not expert enough to tell the difference between a
good file and an interloper. Can anyone help us?

Chances are you have undeliverable read receipts in your Outbox. They don't

Thanks for your help Brian but i tried this and it didn't work. still
looking for a solution if anyone has one! thanks!
