I'm trying to: design a functionality that updates data on
a webpage automatically when I press the Save button in MS
Project - and I'm NOT using Project Server or Sharepoint.
This automatical update thing is possible by saving the
Project file as an MS Access Database file (*.mdb) and
then using Active Server Pages (ASP) scripts to retrieve
data from that database file and displaying them on the
webpage.
My problem is: that MS Project saves its projects into a
very complex and obstructive MDB-file. This makes me very
unsure about which cell in the database does contain the
specific data I want to display on the webpage.
I need to know: which cell columns in the Access database-
file that contains the data equivalent to specific Task
(and parameters) from a MS Project File?
Another way to phrase my question would be: if I open MS
Project and adjust data for a specific Task in MS Project
and then saves the Project in MS Access Database-format,
then where in the Database is the specific data-post that
I just adjusted using MS Project?
Thanks in Advance
Tom
PS. If anyone thinks this seems an overly complicated
procedure for what I need to do (I agree), please feel
free to suggest other ways to accomplish the same result -
NOT using Project Server or Sharepoint. DS.
