Fade effect in image

I'm creating an ad and I was wondering if you're able to create a gradient
effect with images (jpeg). I've used the washout option but it's not exactly
what I'm looking for. I would like the picture to fade from one corder (top
right) to the other (lower left). I know how to do that with fill colours but
not images.

Please help.

Maybe you could use the Starter version
of MS Digital Image 2006. If you decide to
download and install it...you can open an
image and go to...Effects / Transparency /
Gradual...you'll find several gradient choices.
