Failing Spanish spell checker in office for mac 2008

I recently bought the office for mac 2008.
I work a lot with Spanish documents, but when I type in Spanish, my office frequently crashes over the Spanish accents. So I guess there is a huge problem with the Spanish spell checker. when I do a spell check on underlined words, I get either Chinese signs, or my office crashes. Anybody any idea what is going wrong?

I think that's all part of the confirmed Spell Checker bug they just found,
and for which we are waiting on a fix.

Please use Send Feedback from the Help menu to make sure that Microsoft
knows it affects Spanish also.
