So I have dealt with this before but never really found the cause or maybe
the easy fix.
What is the reason for office prompting for the install location or just
running an install weeks, months, years after an install was done? I have
seen it when people have run the install from a shared folder on the network,
why does that happen?
Are you not supposed to do that?
What if you now roll out office by gpo, does this happen still?
The big issue is when you do the shared folder install from what I have seen
and then the server that had the share is now gone, then you are really in a
jam with those annoying errors?
