Feature ID not Registered

I get the error message "Feature ID Not Registered" whenever I try to click
on a shortcut which would open up an Office program, be it Excel, Access Word
or any other. If I reboot my computer it's okay...for a while. It usually
happens after opening/closing Excel several times. I've uninstalled and
reinstalled Office 2000 to no avail. I'm operating on Windows XP. Any
suggestions?

Thanks,
Jennifer

Are you on a network? When I Googled that error message, this is what I
found:

The user receives an error message such as "This product is not installed"
or "Feature ID not registered."

Cause: This could be caused by a user with a roaming user profile logging
on to two computers simultaneously, which is an unsupported use of roaming
user profiles.

Solution: Have the user log off one computer before logging on to another.
That way, the application shortcuts will be updated and valid on the second
computer, and they will not give error messages.
