Fields in a pivot table

Can you add text fields to a pivot table without creating
another indent? I want 2 text fields to be next to each
other, but the pivot table wants to create another indent
and row.

If you right click on the subtotal row for that field and choose field settings
and then change Subtotals from automatic to none for each of the text fields,
does this give you what you want?
