File "Outlook.box" and Vista

Peter Flindt

Hello,
I found the file "Outlook.box" is at this place:
C:\Users\USERNAME\Application Data\Microsoft\Forms
(Or Rootentry -> Username in the Explorer)

1)Whats the sense of this file?
2)Why this file is not somewhere below C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\ ?
3)Can I change the location? It's a little bit deranging that this
folder/file is the only "Application specific folder" at this place,
next to the custom-folders like documents, pictures, downloads,...

1) It holds customizations you make to the Control Box in the forms design
editor.
2) It is for me. You failed to mention your Windows (I assume Vista
considering the paths) and Outlook configuration and whether or not this was
an upgrade. It's important to know that in order to understand what is going
on. What else is in that folder?
3) As I said; it's in the correct location for me. This could be a remnant
of an upgrade.

AHH ok, but it's a little bit curio for me that this is the only file
in the complete folder branch.
There are no other subfolder, files or whatever only
C:\Users\USERNAME\Application Data\Microsoft\Forms\Outlook.box
below Application Data.

System: Vista 32 Ultimatate, Outlook 2007

What is the modification date of the file? Can you determine when it was
created?
You're a developer and indeed customized the Control Box in the form design
editor?

The default location for it is;
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\FORMS

When you delete the folder branch, does it indeed get recreated when you
make your customizations again?

I never created any forms or VBA-Scripts knowingly.
The creation and modifications dates from this file,
(creation 4/23/2007 mofified: 08/19/2007) tell me nothing, this was not
the installtion date from office.

Yes, I thought this too, AppData but not Application Data

I have renamed the folder now, and will wait some days if I get some
errors or the folder appear again, before I delete the folder.
