filelist.xml

I just found a folder in one of my Webs called new_page_1_files which FP
2002 must have automatically generated. In it are two very small, blank gif
files and something called filelist.xml.

Can some tell me why or how this was generated and can I safely delete all
or part of it? Thanks a bunch!

I don't think I did a "Save as Web Page" in another Office application but
I'm not sure. This showed up in the Folder List when I opened the Web. I
didn't even look in the Broken Hyperlinks Report and I couldn't tell for
sure if the link you provided to the kb article even applies to this file.
Could this file have been put there for by FP 2002 for some other reason?

I was able to open & copy filelist.xml. Here it is: Any suggestions?
- <xml xmlns:eek:="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice">
<o:MainFile HRef="../new_page_1.htm" />
<o:File HRef="image001.gif" />
<o:File HRef="image002.gif" />
<o:File HRef="image003.gif" />
<o:File HRef="image004.gif" />
<o:File HRef="image005.gif" />
<o:File HRef="image006.gif" />
<o:File HRef="image007.gif" />
<o:File HRef="image008.gif" />
<o:File HRef="filelist.xml" />
</xml>

When you save as html from an office program it creates MSO roundtripping code and puts any associated files (say images) in a
folder using the same name as the file name

Well, do you know if I can safely delete new_page_1_files or is that a bad
idea?

The files look like the 8 images used by your page you imported from MS Office
- if you delete them the links will be broken

And depending on your Windows settings you may not be able to delete folders associated w/ a file if the folder is a "thicket",
managed as a pair

Look at the files in Folder List w/ your View set to Hyperlinks to see if they are used in your web

Thanks. I looked in the Hyperlinks View, saw nothing and so deleted the
file. The deletion caused no changes so I guess everything is OK. Thank you.
