"Filter Would Be Too Long" message

Hi,

I have a form which users to sleect values from a
multiselect listobx. The values selected in the
multiselect listbox are then used as the criteria for the
report, and records for selected values are shown in the
report.

There can be about as little as 10 names and as much as
500 names in the multiselect listbox.

When users select 1-20 names or so, the report is
generated fine.

However, when more than 20 names are selected in the
report, the Error message saying that the "filter would
be too long" comes up and the report is not generated.

Can anyone tell me why this happens and if I can prevent
this?
