Filtering Control Data

I am just getting into InfoPath 2007, so this may be a very basic question.
I am trying to build a "simple" vacation request form with the following
fields: Employee Name, Employee ID, Department, Date Of Request, Days
Requested, Total Hours Requested and Total Hours Available.

I have managed to get the Employee name to pull from AD/SharePoint based on
login, but would like to pull Employee ID, Department and Hours Available
from our ERP system (Great Plains), using the User Name as the filtering
criteria. Is this possible?

I have experience in SQL and in Access, but no experience with InfoPath.
