find and replace "freezes" in Word

Find and replace "freezes" for about a minute at a time about every 10th word
while checking documents in Word in Microsoft Office X

You probably need to update, but here's a whole list of troubleshooting
remedies for MacWord.

(hit refresh a few times in Safari, or use a different browser)

Work through them. If that still doesn't help, then post again to a
Mac-specific newsgroup, as that's a much better place to post problems
relating to Word misbehaving rather than just questions on how to manipulate
Word.
