First ever publisher use

Hi i am using Publisher 07, what i am trying to achive is to print a catlog
for my products, i want to print it on A4 paper, when folded will be like a
book, with printing on all sides. I have read therough all the help given
here but am still doing something wrong, i set up a new document, selected
1/2 A4 booklet, added some images and text for the test run, and page numbers
using mastre page, but when it come to print i get problems.

If i chose to print i select two sided flip side, but when it prints it
appears in the centre of the page and on seperate pages.

what am i doing wrong, i am trearing my hair out

When you setup the print, are you selecting booklet in print dialogue box? Do
you have a duplex unit?
In page setup, advanced, are those settings correct?

I've setup a page to your specs and it printed okay. I did select "flip pages
up" and I do have a duplex unit.

, when you say "print dialog box" do you mean the "printing options" box
where you choose one page or tiled, cos there is no booklet option, in
advanced settings of the page set up i have selected booklet yes, (this is
why i am banging my head against the floor lol)

oh and i dont have a duplex printer (but i will be getting one by christmas
do you recomnd one)

Okay, don't select duplex. How many pages is your booklet?

In page setup, select booklet, then click the advanced button, does it show
booklet? Do you have more than one booklet offering for A4? If you do, try the
second one. Try setting up a custom size.

As far as I am concerned the print interface is awful. Use to be when you "print
current page" you were asked if you wanted it printed as part of the booklet. No
longer. Now you have to designate page numbers, so you have to figure out what
is on the back of what and type those numbers in the box.

I don't know about your Publisher program, but in mine whenever I create a
publication, the preview will duplicate forever. I had about 20 letter blank
page sizes until I deleted them. And you can only delete them one at a time.

End of rant...

I am hoping some of this will be fixed in a service pack.
