Flowing text between two table columns

T

Tony Lima

I'd like to create a two column table on a single page. Each column
will have one "row." The idea is to type text into the first column
and have it flow into the second.

I want to do this so the two columns will be preserved when I save the
page as a web page. Using text frames converts the two columns into a
single column. I'm using Publisher 2000 SR-1. Any ideas will be
greatly appreciated. TIA. - Tony Lima

I don't know anything about web pages
but maybe the following info will be useful.

When you select a text frame a button
appears on you tool bar that looks like
a figure 8 on it's side. That is your....
"Connect Text Frames" button.

If you click the button, your pointer will
change into a "Pitcher". Clicking within
subsequent frames with the "Pitcher"
will connect them.

Make two text boxes, link them so the text flows, make them transparent (ctrl+t), do
the text, select them both, copy, paste special, picture.

Mary, I want to make sure I understand your suggestion. It sounds to
me like you're suggesting I create two versions of the file, one for
printing and one for the web. If I'm misunderstanding you, please
clarify. Thanks! - Tony

I don't think that's what Mary was suggesting.

Instead of using two table cells and linking them (which is not possible in
Publisher), create two text boxes and link then (and group them if you
want), which is possible in Publisher and gives the same effects as a
two-column text box.
