Fomat Option Greyed Out

Hi,

I can only change the format of my messages (Font, Size & Colour etc.)
through the pull down Format menu.

The dialogue boxes remain greyed out so any format changes are possible but
long winded.

Any suggestions on a solution please?

Are you using Plain Text as the message format?
