Font formatting goes awry

I'm using Publisher 2002. When I bold a font it converts to
Times roman. How do I overcome this?

Does this happen with any font?
What version of Windows are you using?
Has this always happened since you installed Publisher?
Have you done a Detect and Repair?
Does this happen in other applications, such as Microsoft Word?

Thanks for replying Ed, answers are:
1/Yes, converts to Times roman from any font (TrueTypes etc).
2/I'm running Windows 98.
3/When first installed (2-3 weeks ago) yes it happened. I
uninstalled then reinstalled and it was fine for a day.
When I returned to Publisher a few days later, it was
happening again. So I uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail.
4/Yes I then did a Detect and Repair which didn't help.
5/I also have Word 2002, and that's OK.
I just don't know what else to try - any further
suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks again, Julie

Are you running Adobe Type Manager?
Have you installed the Service Packs for Publisher from
http://office.microsoft.com?

No, I'm not running Adobe Type Manager - would having it be
of help?

No, I thought that if you had it installed, it could be causing the problem.
