I'm using entourage 2008 and when sending message out in HTML format the font increases. The receiver will see huges texts. Only when I down size the font to 7 points it will become acceptable. However, I can hardly ready the outgoing text. Is there a solution to this bug already? Apart from sending message in plain text format?

I too would dearly love to find an answer to this problem. It seems
remarkable that Micro$oft have not dealt with this bug.

I'm experiencing the same issue. For example I've set my font to Arial, 10pt, sent an email to myself and the font is probably 14pt when I view it via our Exchange web client.

If your emails appear in enlarged font on the recipients' end, for now we
have identified two causes:

- Your correspondent is using Eudora (Windows or Mac).
- You have enabled Dutch dictionary under Preferences | Spelling.

Otherwise, if it's the case where the fonts appear just slightly bigger
(i.e. Arial 10 appearing as Arial 13 on TextEdit or Office 2004), it's
because of the recent switch in Entourage 2008's font system from pixels to
points. The conversion between pixels and points will cause font size to
appear smaller/bigger on different applications.

You mean from points to pixels? That's what Barry said in an earlier post,
and seems to make sense.

No, it's actually from pixels to points. That's why if you copy text in
Arial 10 from Entourage 2008 it will show up as Arial 13 on TextEdit. It's
actually Arial 10pt showing up as Arial 13px. Which is also why font sent
from Office 2004 shows up smaller on Office 2008--if you sent an email in
Arial 10 from Office 2004, it will show up as Arial 7.5pt on Office 2008.

It is my impression that this problem has gone away with 12.0.1; can others
confirm this?

Not using the Dutch dictionary is just a temporary workaround for now. It is
definitely not permanent.

I changed my dictionary to English (UK).
when using html my mail (originally typed in Tebuchet 10) changed at the recipient's end to 18 for the first half of the message, after that it changed back to normal (10)...
this is not an example of a reply, it is with every mail I send.
So at the moment I cannot use html, very disturbing.

pls help,
regards,
Anton

I have run the update and mine still doesn't work. In fact Entourage still
says 12.0.0 so nothing changed here. Does yours say 12.0.1?

When I run update again it says there is no software on disk that the update
applies to.

Any ideas?

Did you relaunch Entourage after changing your dictionary? Is this sudden
font change still happening now? If it is, please send me an HTML email
directly to huchinATmicrosoftDOTcom so that I can see the message source on
my end.

I once again changed and relaunched Entourage.
It now seems to work as long as I use UK dictionary, though every now and then I get reply mails in which all of a sudden font sizes change again. This I had not noticed before...
Not being able to use spelling with Dutch email is very time consuming, apart from not using html.
could you give an indication when this problem will be solved??

Anton

What version of Entourage are you using (I can't find the original
thread that your message is replying to)?

Entourage 2008

2 different issues with reply or forward

1. I can not reply or forward the message in the html format it came with

2. At times when I reply or forward in a text email- the body of the
email is missing. I need to shut down Entourage to have the body appear.

I have the lastest updates and plenty of memory on MBP 2.2
