When i check my fonts folder i have a lot more fonts that
do not show up in the actual programme, eg: word. An
example is the "Palatino Lynotype" font which has various
types eg: Bold, Bold-Italic etc. The Bold-Italic for
example is not in the Word list for available fonts, yet
it is in the fonts folder.
Does anyone know how I can get this and other fonts to
appear in the list for word, Access, Excell etc.

Thank you

Is your fonts folder installed fonts? If so un-install and
re-inatall.

I don't know if this answer is exactly correct. For anyone who knows for
sure, please let us know.

I believe that all the "bold", "italic", "bold-italic" fonts are used when
you bold or italicize a word, sentence, text in the programs. For example if
you select some text and then click the bold button on the toolbar, you are
using the "bold" version of the font. So you can't select it directly out of
the list, but you are using it indirectly just by applying the corresponding
formatting properties.

I hope this helps,

No need to uninstall the fonts, though if you did, you would use
Control Panel-Fonts in most versions of Windows since Win95.

Please read the response by Conan.
It seems to cover the situation quite well.
