Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: Exchange Is it possible to have Entourage require signing in BEFORE it displays the already downloaded e-mail? Many of our school secretaries have expressed concern that once they logon to their computer, anyone could walk up to their computer and click the Entourage icon and see their e-mail.

Thank you,

Well it's by design of MacOS X. The general idea is precisely that once
you get into your session, you don't have to reauthenticate all the
tome for that.
If you are worried about people getting to your computer and reading
your e-mails, you can either turn on support for fast user switching
and get to the login window when you leave, or activate the password on
the screen saver, and either set it to a short activation time, or set
a hot corner to activate it when you leave.

Thank you Corentin. That's pretty much what I've done-set a hot corner and have the password required to come out of screen saver. That helped some; they're still concerned that someone may walk up behind them and see some confidential subject lines.

Thank you again!

If they activate the hot corner, with the proper screen saver, no one
can see anything.
Using fast user switching to get back to the login panel (without
logging out) is even more efficient in this regard. That;s the solution
I would use.
