Form/Subform - editing a record and I don't know why

Hi,

I've set up a form and subform...

In the form you enter employee name and date and then the subform populates
timesheet information (i.e. job number, activity performed, hours spent).

It seemed to work OK....but now seems to not work....

Now if it doesn't find records to populate the subform with it just edits the
first record in the table to the employee name and date entered....

Would appreciate any ideas as to why this might be happening.

Many Thanks.

Hi again,

More info. This record editing happens every time, not only when it can't
find records.

So if there are no records to find, then the subform is populated with the
first record in the table (which has now been changed incorrectly with the
name/date entered in the form).

If there are records to find, the subform is populated with those (correct)
records plus the edited (incorrect) record.

Many Thanks.

More info....

If I open the form in "Add form" view, then a blank record is added to the
subform.

If I open the form in "Edit form" view, then a record is immediately edited
(per other messages).

Very confused....what am I doing wrong?
