Format autoshape fill color or line color always white or corrupte

Hi, I got several problems with the drawings in word xp with SP2

First, anytime when I create a drawing (eg circle), and I scroll up and down
out of the view, and the back, the drawing disappear. I had to then go to
preview and back out and sometime it doesn't even showed up even though its
there.

Second, when I right mouse click on the drawing and goto format autoshape.
The fill color and the line color remains always as white even though I
change to other colors by clicking on the dropdown and it is reflected after
I click ok, the fill color and line color always remain white.

Does anyone has any idea how to fix this? Thanks.

First, try reducing the hardware acceleration setting in Start |
Control Panel | Display | Advanced | Troubleshooting.

Second, click on Start | Control Panel | Accessibility Options |
Display | uncheck the "Use high contrast" box | OK.
