Julie,

It is a Gantt chart. Project 2003. I tried adding a column into the table
that is to the left of teh bars with Format([Start],"MM/YY") but it says the
date is invalid.

Hello John,

Try this formula in a text field:

IIf([Milestone]=-1,Format([Start],"mm/yy"),[Start])

It will show only month and year for the start date of milestone tasks
and just the regular start date for non-milestone tasks. You can then
use the Text(n) field for the display on the Gantt.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

I set the Bar Style for Milesstone to Text26 for teh right side of teh bar.
Then I added a column to the table that appears to teh left of teh Gantt
chart and inserted a new column for Text26. Then I pasted
IIf([Milestone]=-1,Format([Start],"mm/yy"),[Start]) into the formula bar.
The text appears in the first cell but nothing else happens.
