Format Painter KB shortcut not working...

R

I'm runnuing Office 03 and the format painter has a KB shortcut of
Ctrl+Shift+C (per its tooltip). When I highlight text and do a
Ctrl+Shift+C I do not get the format painter icon that indicates that
the text that I hightlight next will have the format of the text
previously higlighted. So my question is, how do I use a KB shortcut
to access the format painter function?

Many thanks!

Hi Von,

The Format Painter is tied to the 'Copy Format' command
and works like a clipboard.

Select the text that has the formatting you wish to reuse
and use Shift+Ctrl+C to copy it to the Painter.

Next, select the text that you want to apply the formatting
to and use Shift+Ctrl+V to 'pasteFormat' (paint) the formatting
you have on the painter. You can then select other text
and repeat the 'paint'

The Format Painter icon does not change when you're using
the keyboard shortcut method.

Bob,

Shift+Ctrl+C to copy it to the Painter then Shift+Ctrl+V to
'pasteFormat' (paint) seems to work in Word 03 but not XL 03. Am I
missing something?

Many thx!

Hi ~Von,

You may also want to post this in the MS Excel
newsgroup (links below).

The Tools=>Customize=>Commands section of Excel
is a bit different of that in Word. You can use
the [Modify] button to set up an alt+letter shortcut
key for a toolbar icon, but you may want to add a
custom shortcut through this method
