formatting issues between 2003 and 2004

are there inherent formating issues that take place in the slides when you
transfer from a user on a MAC (Powerpoint 2004) and a PC (Powerpoint 2003).
each time we pass a deck back and forth the formatting gets all screwed up on
a few slides.
