PowerPoint 2007 slide corruption

I am experiencing some problems in Microsoft PowerPoint 2007. This user is
our graphics specialist. Other users are experiencing other issues but I
thought I would work on this one first. This user is working on a Windows
Vista machine with office 2007 service pack one applied. We have not rolled
up to service pack two for this user because there is a known issue with
charts in service pack two.

This user is receiving the following message when working with many
PowerPoint presentation decks.

Powerpoint was unable to display some of the text, images, or objects as
slides in the file (name) because they have become corrupt. Affected slides
have been replaced by blank slides in the presentation and it is not possible
to recover lost information. To ensure that the file can be opened in
previous versions of PowerPoint, use the Save As command and save the file
within the same name or a new name.

I've done some looking online and it appears like this was a big issue with
PowerPoint 2003 prior to service pack two. I'm wondering if this problem
might be due to the fact that the template that the graphic person uses was
created with PowerPoint 2003 and then she converted the template to
PowerPoint 2007?

I'm wondering if anyone has also experienced this issue in the new version
of PowerPoint and any suggestions. My next suggestion to this user is going
to be re-creating the template from scratch using PowerPoint 2007 but wanted
to find out if there are any other options for doing that since it's a
substantial amount of work for our graphics specialist. My

What kind of graphics is she using in the file, and is she saving it as PPT
97-2003 format or as PPTX (PowerPoint Presentation -- which is the 2007
format)?

I haven't seen too many reports of this issue in 2007, so I wonder if it has
to do with the graphics specifically combined with the down-level save.

I recall something like this happening to me a while ago (although I don't
remember getting a dialog stating that there was corruption - I'd just open
files and find out that content was missing). These were also being worked on
Macs as well as PCs.

I don't know if it will help you, but I found that I had to open any files
that had been created in 2007 first in 2003 (we were saving them backwards
compatible at the time because not everyone had upgraded to 2007) and save it
in 2003. Then when I opened it in 2007 the slides were intact.

The version of PPT is 11.0.5529.0

Ya, it appears like you have a corrupted Powerpoint and it needs proper care. The Powerpoint Recovery program can do wonders in such situation. I think you should take the help of this program and this will resolve it. A mac version of this application called Powerpoint Recovery Mac is also available and this can be work on all versions of Mac systems too is available too.You can check this out here : http://www.powerpointrecoverymac.com
