Formatting spreadsheets

Hi

I was wondering if anyone knows of an easy way to format excel files without
actually opening the file itself ??

Odd question but I need to change the Orientation to Lanscape and also apply
Cell Formatting across a large number of spreadsheets.

I was hoping there may be a way of doing this to save me time

Many Thanks in advance

Short of knowing where the "info" is stored in the file and then
overwriting just those bytes in the file with some kind of hex editor,
you won't get around opening the file with Excel. Even the HEX editor is
going to "open" the file.

If the specifications are the same then you should be able to utilize
VBA for this task. You may want to ask in the Excel Programming
newsgroup and see if anyone there can help you with a solution.

Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup. Requests for
assistance by email can not be acknowledged.
