Formulas won't paste - very frustrating

Hi,
I'm desperately trying to copy data from one spreadsheet to another bu
unfortuantely all data is being pasted as values instead of formulas.
(I was working in this document all day today and this just happene
all of a sudden!)

I tried the paste special function so I could paste formulas only bu
the wrong dialogue box appeard - the one for inserting an object or
link.

Does anyone know why this is happening now and how I can correct it?

and you are working only within Excel (not opening an Excel file within
another Office application)?
