Forward and Reply Arrows are gone

When I reply to or forward an email, I no longer get an arrow indicating this
on the email when it's in the Inbox. If I move the email to another folder,
the arrow shows up. If I move it back to the Inbox, it disappears. This
started to happen in Outlook 2000. I upgraded to Office 2003 and still no
arrows. Help, please!
