FP 97 with Win XP Home

I have FP 97 that I have used for many years with Win 95 and Win 98. I have
recently upgraded my computer to Win XP Home. Win XP Home does not support
Personal Web Server. So while the FP 97 Editor basically works there is a
problem with linking to pages on the computer. In addition FP Explorer
cannot open a web.

I use FP 97 infrequently so I am wondering if I can get it to work properly
for no cost or little cost. I know I can get an upgrade to FP 2003 for ~$100
but would prefer to save the money if I can. I tried loading a couple of
free web servers I found on the net. However, I couldn't get them to work
with FP 97. It's possible I just don't know how. Can anyone tell me of a low
cost way to run FP 97 on Win XP Home? Thanks.

FP97 sucks. It screws up the HTML code and more. It is a half baked
product. FP200 and later are OK. You are better off using a text editor.

If you just need a wsig HTML editor, try the free 1st Page 2000.

If you need Personal Webserver on WinXPHE, there is a non-sanctioned way
of installing IIS5 on XPHE. Do a google search for IIS on Winxp Home
Edition. You need to follow instructions very carefully.

XP Pro comes with an option for IIS but you need to install it
XP HE doe not "come" with an option to officially install IIS. But
people have found a work around.
