Why did MS decide to change the appearance of the text frame and picture frame box frames from a nice crisp line to a fat clunky style? Is there any tweak to make these outlines thinner?
Thanks,
Treeman

Publisher 2003 fixed that issue. Amazing they changed it in Publisher 2002.
It was bizarre it was ever introduced. You can only wonder at the calibre
of intellect to produce such a bizarre 'feature'. *EVERYBODY* hated it.

Sorry, no fix for Publisher 2002.

I've used Publisher for it's simplicity and precise layout. Now they have dorked it up with with the *feature* you mentioned.
I figured it was a pattern effect that I could change to none, but your right , you can't.
You say that Publisher 2003 went back to the original layout tools . . great. Are there any other caveats to the 2003 version I should be aware of before I send more money to M$ to get back what I already had before Publisher 2002?
Thanks for your advice,
Treeman

Publisher 2003 is a superior product in all areas.

No unpleasent surprises at all.

There is also a freeware add-in to give you Text Frame defaults.

Treeman, as an FYI, the text box carried over into Publisher 2002 was a
shared text box with other Office products such as Powerpoint for example.
Since Microsoft Publisher was trying to share more and more code with the
Office applications, this was one of the carry overs. This of course was one
of the biggest complaints MS received and they have since changed it in
Publisher 2003.

Publisher 2003 addresses many complaints that were in Publisher 2002.
