Freezing-up Outlook 2003, how to fix

My outlook 2003 constantly freezes-up... especially when I am sending and receiving emails. Rebooting only helps minimually. Is there a fix? Should I dump Outlook and use another program? It is a brand new Think Pad with XP

Thoughts?

What is logged to the Event Viewer regarding this?

Start with running scanst.exe on your pst-file. If it still freezes locate
outcmd.dat and rename it to outcmd.old. This will completely reset the
Toolbar.
