FROM field left blank in sent Folder. Cannot send any outgoing mai

I previously raised this issue but have not received any further replies to
my last 2 postings.

The problem is that whenever I try to send an email from my pop3 account I
immediately get the message 'None of your e-mail accounts could send to this
recipient'

There appears to be an article on this, see :
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;872896

The problem occured after adding a new email account for hotmail and then
removing it. After trawing the internet I found other people with the same
problem.

I could send mails prior to adding the new hotmail email account.

I guess if there is no answer then the final option is to uninstall and
reinstall.

QUESTION : how do I fully uninstall Office2003, SP1 and any other updates?
Additionally are there any other files I need to manually delete or registry
entries to look at?

I'm working on the basis that since it previously worked I should be able to
return to that point by following the same step (e.g. new install after
uninstall) and obviously not adding hotmail as an email account since this
almost certainly caused the problem.

Thanks
Nick

I have not seen this issue yet but do have some suggestions that might help.
Have you tried creating a new user and logging in as the new user setup
outlook and see if all is well. IF it is then you simply need to delete your
"broken" user profile to clear out the settings as they are user specific.
Reminder to copy your desktop and favorites folder to a temp folder as well
as your outlook.pst while you delete the broken user profile so you dont lose
all your stuff.

If you find that this occurs under all user profiles then you can pursue
your removal of office procedure using add/remove programs (yes it leaves
some reg entries and files behind but sadly most if not all uninstalls seem
to do the same thing). I would definitely try the user profile fix first
though as it is ALLOT less painful and time consuming if you copy your
desktop, favorites and outlook .pst file to a safe location, delete the bad
profile and then login back in to create a "new" one then copy back over your
desktop items and fovorites and .pst

Hope this is helpful to you my friend.

Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately I've already been down the profile route and still get the
same problem.

I created a new profile, created a new pst file. Delivered mail from the new
profile to the new pst and deleted the old profile and then the old pst and
unfortunately the same error persists.

My only concern now is whether I'm able to get back to the state before I
added the hotmail account. To do this I guess I've got to go down the
uninstall and reinstall route.

My issue is whether the uninstall is entirely clean and if it isn't then I
risk going through the whole process to end up with the same result, i.e. not
being able to send mail.

Do any documents exists on how to do a full uninstall and all the registry
items, left behind files I need to remove?

Hi Nick,

You can uninstall Office 2003, but I do not think this will help, you may
want to create a new Outlook profile. I have added the link to create a new
Outlook profile and I have added the steps to remove Office 2003

How to create a new e-mail profile for Outlook 2002:

Thanks for the reply Lee-Anne

I've already gone the profile route and it didn't help.

Could you explain why you don't think uninstalling and reinstalling will help?

My logic is that everything worked up until I added a second email account
to Outlook 2003 so surely I should be able to get back to the point where
I've got one email account registered and everything works.

Hi Nick,

I got delayed while typing the previous email, so I did not see your reply
to Charles, therefore like Charles I suggested the logical path, create a new
profile.

The reason I say a complete removal of Office won't work is, even the
registry keys and background folders I mentioned in my previous email do not
remove account settings and profile information.

I have got some other information that you can try if the uninstall does not
work, but I personally have not tried it, so I am a bit skeptical on whether
it will work or not. Anyway, after trying the steps to remove Office that I
gave you in the previous reply, let me know the results.

Truly sorry to hear that my friend, I was hoping you would be lucky and it
would a bad profile :(

I forgot about the officeclean tool on the CD. You can use it to clean up
what is left after uninstalls. look on the main office cd under files
pfiles > msoffice > office11 and you'll see the offcln.exe.

I hope to hear this works out for you! good luck!

Thanks Lee-Anne & Charles,

I'll try the uninstall, etc. this evening and get back to you. I'll also, as
Charles suggests, use the Office Clean program on the office CD.

The only other route that is maybe worth considering now though is:

The problem occured when I added my hotmail account and then removed it.
Other people with this issue have claimed that adding the hotmail account
back in resolves the problem (although I've not tested this yet)

The reason I removed the hotmail account was that I couldn't sent emails
from my primary pop3 mail, when I composed a mail I would specify the account
to send from to be my pop3 mail account but it would still send from hotmail.
Obviously I can't live with this since for business use I need to send mails
from the pop3 account.

Do you know a solution to this problem so that outlook correctly uses the
correct account to send emails? if so, and this can be resolved, I could then
add back in the hotmail account which will be far easier than going through
the uninstall and reinstall, etc. etc.

Thanks
Nick

Lee-Anne,

I did a full uninstall, followed all your notes and ran the office cleaner
utility.

Didn't solve the problem though. After reinstalling and installing SP1 I'm
back to square1.

You mentioned you might have some other ideas? could you let me know those
pls? I'm ready to try anything at this stage !!!

THanks
Nick
