You can only do that with the home page of the site
(which does not require an explicit call to the page)

| I am building a web page that has several pages.
| I an wanting to hide / mask the web page address after
| the domain name. how do i do this.
| i.e.
| to show only www.main-adress.com
| The web page resides on a Mandrake 9.1 server running
| apache.
| Thanks in advance

Shawn:

Your host will have a default name for the "home" page of
the sites they host. This is usually:

default.htm, default.html. index.htm or index.html

Check with your web service provider as to which one they
support. Name your home page in that manner.

if i can do this . then how do make this happen ?

The main page is called index.html
which shows up fine until you follow a link to a new page
then it shows up in the adress bar as www.main-
address.com/second%20page.htm
i want to make it state www.main-address.com

That's the point
The address bar will only "hide" the explicit home page
- not other pages

You only other option is to create a site using framesets, since w/ frames the home page is the frameset page and the individual
frames actually never show in the address bar
