FrontPage 2000, Centering Grouped Objects

Forgive me for not knowing the nomenclature of FrontPage but here is my
problem...
I am trying to build a very simple page that has three graphic objects. I
want two of the objects to appear on the same line (horizontally) even when
viewed with a small browser window and so have grouped them with the
position option to prevent them from wrapping (being displayed on two lines,
vertically). I have only specified the vertical position in the position
window but the group will not respond to the 'center' command. As such, when
viewed in a large browser window the objects are not centered. I hope that
makes sense and i thank you for you taking the time to help if you can.

What you should considering doing for any layout with graphics that you
want to appear in a certain spot on the screen is to put them into
tables. Tables are used widely by a lot of designers to create the
illusion of WYSIWYG. With tables you can put your graphic image anywhere
on the page that you have a cell that you can put it in. Inside the
cell, you can also align it anyway you want. By not using tables, you
end up with images flowing however it wants to based on the size of the
broswer and screen that your visitor is viewing it in. Also, note that
the tables should not be more than 760 pixels wide for 800 x 600 viewing
or 600 pixels wide for 640 x 480 viewing. Keep these numbers handy
whenever you want to build tables.

Thank you for the quick reply. That certainly helps a lot and it took only
a few minutes to redo it using a table. It looks much better too. However,
I find that the entire table stays to the left (as opposed to being
centered) when displayed in a large browser window. I just think it would
look better if the entire table could be centered on whatever page size is
displayed. Do you know if there is a way to control that? No matter what I
select under table properties it does not seem to impact the behavior of the
published page. Thank you.

The default for tables are left aligned. You can fix this by
highlighting the whole table and go into its property and changing the
alignment to what you want.

Yes! That did it! Thank you once again for all of your help. I thought
that I had looked in table properties but obviously looked right past that
very first item labeled 'layout-alignment'. Instead I had gone directly to
the 'style' button then 'format' then 'paragraph' and 'postion'... which
obviously have no impact on the overall table position...
Thanks again.
