frustrated wth walls

Walls for me are potentially one of the most usefull of all Visio 2002
shapes.
But I just can't get them to join properly.
I've set "glue to object geometry" like the help says, but that doesn't
help.

Here' are the issues:
1. When adusting walls I can't (and shouldn't have to) remember which is the
gluer and which is the gluee. If I want one wall to remain fixed while I
move the other, they both move??
2. Often the joint won't meld, especially if the ends connect at 45 or 135
degrees.
3. Gluing to object geometry may be the right setting for connecting one
wall to another wall along its length, but not for connecting at its
endpoint.
4. The old visio 5 which had dumber walls at least had tools where you could
automatically extend a wall to intersect another, or extend/retract 2 walls
to connect at their intersection. That's now gone, and what's left doesn't
work.

Should I go back to Visio 5, or is there another answer?
