I don't know if you were able to figure out how to get the task name
added per Trevor's post so here's a bit more of a step-by-step reply.
Display the Gantt chart view you wish to modify.
In the menu choose Format > Bar Styles to open the Bar Styles dialog
box.
You should see several rows with bar definitions. Depending upon how
the view was formatted, you may see "Task" bars and "Critical Task"
bars, along with Summary and Milestone bars.
To add the Task Name to any of those bars:
Select the bar in the list and click the "Text" tab at the bottom of
the dialog box. You have 5 places you may position information from
fields: Left, Right, Top, Bottom, and Inside.
To add the Task Name to the Left (as Jan suggested) click in the Left
area and from the drop-down select Name from the list of fields.
Repeat the process for the other bar definitions (Critical, Summary)
as needed.
