Gantt chart view

When I look at the gantt chart view screen, it only presenst from Novemeber
onwards. I want it to start in August when the project starts but do not know
how.
Could someone please help?

Yes I have. The date if have set is correct, but is not the date which is
being represented in my View or when I print.

To force a date range in a print:
Select File, Print
Set a date range then click Print

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

I suppose you've tried using the scroll bar at the bottom of the screen?
Does this not able you to view from August?
