generic managed/unmanaged add-in

Hi all,

I just inherited some code that generates add-ins
for the office apps prior to .net (i.e. office 2003), and
The installation deals with the registry. In order for
me begin visualizing an optimum deployment when
we get the office 2003 in place, are there any guidelines
in place on how to deploy the right add-in given its platform ?
