Sent this to a GIS mapping software vendor recently. Wondered if anyone
else had any experience or advice in this sort of thing. Pepperwhite looked
like a good deal for a while, but they've been unreachable for the past
week, and the port from their VB code to VBA didn't work. Since this is
vertical market, I'm trying to stick to royalty-free (no seat charge, as MS
has) software
Thanks,
Kevin

I'm about to add a mapping component to my vertical market software, written
in Access 2003. I'll be looking to:
1) Supplying a list of addresses within a city/county area and having their
locations appear on an annotatable and scrollable map, 2) clicking on a
location on the map and having its id returned to me in VBA, 3) supplying
locations returned from a GIS device (I can get the location from a website)
and tracking its progress on a street map.
In the future I may be looking at "optimal" routes, but that's not vital
now.
I tried another product which promised to work in VBA, but when I tried to
port the sample code from VB to VBA, it didn't work. I am very skilled in
VBA, but not so in VB. I am not interested in .NET at this point.
