Global Dialer starts when opening or saving slides

I have a slide presentation that previously contained a video clip from an
online web site. This video clip was removed but powerpoint still brings up
the Global Dialer to make an internet connection (on my laptop) when opeing
or saving the file.

How do I stop this from happening?

Some HTML reference saved within the presentation, when the original video
was copied into it, will often cause this problem. If you have already
deleted the offending video, you might want to copy the slides into a new
blank presentation and then save it.

I tried that previously and it did not work. I am at a loss as to why this
