Go from 2 spaces to 1 after the period using Office 2007

I have just completed a long document (novel manuscript) based on 2 spaces
after the period. Can anyone tell me how to proof a Word document to
automatically make sure
there are 1 space after the period at the end of a sentence? I am using
Office 2007. Thank you.

Change the Setting for "Spaces required between sentences" from "Don't Check"
or "2" to "1". This option if found under the Microsoft Office Button, Word
Option buttons, Proofing, Grammar Settings - Setting button.
This will indicate any space that is not "1" as a Grammar error.
To change the document quickly, use Find Replace.
Find ".spacespace" Replace with ".space", replace all and repeat until Word
returns zero changes.

Hope this helps
