Graph Formatting

I have a document that has a number of graphs in it that are linked to an
Excel spreadsheet. I need these graphs to stay formatted after they update,
but I am not allowed to select the Preserve Formatting After Update box. In
fact, the entire section of Options for Select Link is grayed out. Now some
of my graphs have this box automatically selected and others do not. I need
to get them all to do it but I can’t find what made some be checked or why
the Options is grayed out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
very much.

You need to make sure all the graphs are formatted "in line with the text" -
IOW no text wrap formatting. Now press Alt+F9 to see the field codes. Add the
switch manually at the end of the field codes, where required: \* MergeFormat
