Graphic distortion

I am trying to print a brochure developed in MS Publisher 2002 on an Epsom 1270 Photo Jet . I have done this for a couple of years now without any problems - but today some of the graphics are coming out very pixelated and distorted. These images have all been imported (no cut and paste) using original 24-bit jpeg files.

One thing that I am doing (which may be problemati) is using the "fill effects" mode to insert the images into an autoshape - which is basically a 1"x1" circle.

However, some of the pictures are printing just fine - but others are distorted. The files all look to be normal (high res) in the display mode - but when I print out the brochure (on premium photo paper) I get the distortion ...Any suggestions?
Thanks - Rex

Have you tried resizing the image in a editing program? Reducing an image to one inch
could be the problem.
