Graphical glitches on the Office 2007 ribbon

I am seeing some graphical glitches on the Office 2007 ribbon. On the
right-hand side of the Styles section of the ribbon (right next to Change
Styles), there is a graphical glitch that is visible. When I move the mouse
cursor over various parts of the ribbon, it will slightly change color.

I am using a 24-inch monitor at 1920 x 1200 resolution which I originally
thought might be the issue. However, I did not have this issue when I had a
previous laptop. Also, I tried changing the monitor resolution to 1280 x 1024
and 1280 x 800 and these issues still occur. Also, if I open the laptop lid
and look at the laptop screen, these issues still occur.

I have tried running a repair of Office, but to no avail. I have also tried
completing uninstalling Office 2007, rebooting, and reinstalling it.
Unfortunately, the issue still exists.

I am using Office 2007 SP2 with Windows XP Professional SP3.

Here is a link to a screenshot of what I am seeing:

Can't duplicate on my two computers, one desktop at 1650 X 1050 with Vista
Home Premium SP2 or laptop at 1280 X 800 with Vista Ultimate SP2. Do you
have the latest graphics card drivers in your system? May be cause of
issue.

It is not a glitch, it is called highlighting and is indicating that the
current tab has the focus. You may observe the same "glitch" by moving
the mouse cursor over the icons in the Quick Launch ToolBar or the menu
items of any other Windows application.

Nevermind, misunderstood what you were describing. I'd say your video
driver may need updating, check with the manufacturer.(Not Microsoft
Updates)

I finally got the issue solved. This experience has proved that not all video
drivers are equal. The video driver from HP's website (I'm using an EliteBook
8530p) for the ATI Radeon HD 3650 caused the issue. I completely uninstalled
that driver and restarted my computer. Then, I right-clicked on the unknown
device in the Windows Device Manager and let it find the driver. It was able
to find it on the PC and automatically installed it. Now everything is
running great.

Thanks for posting back with the results!
